How We Work

Paving Contractors Wichita installs and maintains asphalt driveways and parking lots in Wichita and the surrounding communities of Sedgwick County. The work covers new driveways, commercial lots, sealcoating, patching, crack sealing and line striping.

Most asphalt failures in this part of Kansas start below the surface. Clay-heavy soil that holds water, a thin or poorly compacted gravel base, and water that sits along an edge all show up later as cracks, soft spots and potholes, usually after a winter of freezing and thawing. That is why every estimate begins with the ground and the drainage, not with the asphalt.

At the estimate we measure the area, look at how water moves across it, probe soft spots, and note where the driveway meets the curb apron or the street. In Wichita, the drive approach in the public right-of-way is covered by its own section of city code, so we tell you up front whether your project reaches that area and what a permit and inspection would involve.

The written quote breaks the job into its parts: removal, base work, asphalt thickness, edges, sealing or striping, and the price for each. Work begins only after you sign off, and if the scope changes, we put the change in writing for your approval.

How we work

  • We dig or probe soft areas before deciding between patching, overlay and full replacement.
  • Base thickness and asphalt thickness are written into the quote.
  • Paving is scheduled for weather and ground temperatures that let the mix compact properly.
  • Sealcoating waits until new asphalt has had time to cure.
  • Commercial striping layouts are checked against the 2010 ADA Standards for accessible spaces.
  • You pay only for work you approved in writing.
